Counselling in the Bath area and online.

It can help when we
feel heard and understood..

..Life isn’t always easy. Things change, or
end, or go wrong and it’s easy to feel anxious
or low or overwhelmed. We can get stuck, feel we
can’t cope or lose ourselves.. ...sometimes we hurt.

As a professional counsellor and an older man
with a broad experience of life I will take
the time to listen carefully to you
with kindness and compassion.

You can talk to me
openly and confidentially
and we can start to untangle
your concerns, to transform them...

..and see things in new ways.

Starting counselling can be the first step to feeling better

Making the decision to see a counsellor can feel like a really big step - but it’s a chance to sit down with someone who really wants to
understand how you're feeling and who wants to help you make positive changes in your life.
Your first session is an ideal opportunity for you to talk to me, a professional counsellor, and start feeling better.

Your first session with me

Starting counselling  can sometimes be a  stressful time. Your initial consultation with me is an opportunity to explore some of the things which have been concerning you or making you unhappy.
The process of counselling  relies on a strong therapeutic relationship & healing occurs through that relationship. Our first meeting is a chance to see if we are a good fit, to see if you feel I can connect to you and your story.

Online
Therapy

Everyone has their own preferences when they seek support. I work primarily online although sometimes it’s possible to arrange to meet in person. Working online offers
a cost advantage, and the opportunity to be supported from the convenience and comfort of your own safe space. However we meet you should know that  I am committed to providing a safe, confidential, and supportive environment for you.

The long and the short of it

Counselling duration can vary and it’s up to you how long your therapy lasts. Depending on what you’re bringing one
or two sessions might be enough, but for most people 12, 16 or 24 weeks is more usual. We will regularly
review our progress together and, of course, you can stop
at anytime. Whatever the duration the most important part is our shared commitment to your personal growth and well-being.
