Allen Daniels Counsellor in Bath

ABOUT ME

I was born in 1953. I have 2 adult children and live with my wife near Bath.
I am an experienced BACP-registered counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults in Bath, Trowbridge and online.
Originally from London, I have lived in the Bath and Bristol area for over 40 years.
In addition to my current work with adults I have several years experience of
working with adolescents and I also have experience of working with autistic [level 1] clients.
My approach to counselling is, at heart, person-centred. Underpinning everything is the therapeutic relationship we build together. By working together, and through
thoughtful exploration, we can begin to bring about meaningful change.
I am also somatically trained.

SOMATIC THERAPY

Talking therapies traditionally work through the mind, using words to explore thoughts, emotions, and memories. Integrating somatic awareness offers a broader approach that also includes the body and our physical experience. This means paying attention not only to how feelings are understood in the mind, but also
to how they are experienced in the body. I have seen how bringing mind and body
together in this way can help clients feel more connected to themselves,
more settled, and less caught by difficult emotions.

I have an ongoing interest in personal growth and I am deeply committed to offering
this work with integrity, care, and professionalism. It is one of the ways in which
I bring meaning to my life.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
registration number 406696 and I abide by their code of ethics.
